GravityFX website is programming blog maintained by me EMCGFX. Here I share my adventures in programming world and internet in general. You can find here varies software, articles and tutorials I wrote. This website has been around since late 2004 and little by little maintained to this present day. I choice “GravityFX” as my website domain because it simply easy to remember. Gravity is one of the four fundamental interactions of nature. As for FX part is effects really. So I peaced those together to get one very nice easy to remember and unique domain. I know it sounds strange maybe, but I like it so there you go lol. As for choosing my online nickname “EMCGFX”, its fairly easy I’m surprised people ask me. E=MC2 as in mass–energy equivalence, and GFX as in GravityFX. Also, very easy to remember and unique. So there you have it, now you know.
About Me
I’m programmer and designer from Kalispell, MT in United States. I’ve started my programming journey in late 1996, about 14 years ago now. My very first computer was DOS and then later Windows 3.1 os. My first good computer was Compaq Presario 200MHz running windows 98. This is when I got really excited in computer world. I started learning good stuff, like for example batch scripting and windows 98 ins and outs. How to re-install windows and computer hardware in general. I’ve used windows operating system for a long time, up until March 9th 2008 when I switched to linux os. My first linux os that I use on daily basis for all my tasks now is Ubuntu. There is a lot of reasons why I switched to linux, but the best one I might say is security. There is virtually no viruses for linux, compared to windows that is. Also, IPTables firwall is much better then any windows firewall ever will. Its no wonder why more and more advanced programmers and computer experts switch to linux and unix like operating systems. I code in multiple programming languages and platforms; VB6, VB.NET, Batch Scripting (windows), Bash Scripting (linux), HTML, XHTML, CSS. Also, currently learning PHP and MySQL, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX. Now a days I’m more concentrating on web programming and scripting languages then software. But I plan to learn Python and C/C++ programming as well.
